“It is a mission of East Coast Metal Distributors to be an environmentally conscientious company through the development and implementation of initiatives. These initiatives will enhance the social, economic and environmental well being for all of us.
Our company Sustainability Program, ECMD + YOU, is a commitment to the practice of the three R’s of conserving our many valuable resources. They are:
1) Reduction: reduce the amount of waste we generate and thus our carbon footprint 2) Reuse: reuse everything possible for some worthwhile purpose in another process 3) Recycle: make an effort to keep everything possible out of the waste stream.
The ultimate goal is to be as close to zero as we can in the amount of materials going to waste landfills.
East Coast is proactively involved with a couple of sustainability programs. A few programs already in place include the W-360 Metal recycling and Thermostat recycling initiatives. Both of these initiatives are directed to providing a means, free of charge, to our customers, for the proper disposal of waste materials.
It is our desire to partner with our customers in practicing the three R’s of conserving. We welcome input and requests as we “conserve together”. We look forward to hearing from you as we work together to develop a Culture of Conservation and Sustainability within our great industry.”
